2001 Lincoln LS Intake Manifold Removal Procedure :
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. CAUTION: The coolant drain process should be followed exactly or damage to the engine could occur. Drain the engine cooling system.
4. Remove the cowl vent screen. Take away the engine compartment brace. Disconnect the accelerator and velocity management cables.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses. Disconnect the vacuum line. Disconnect the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube.
6. Remove the EGR valve. Remove the 2 bolts. Take away the valve and discard the gasket.
7. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector and separate the connector from the fuel injection provide manifold.
8. CAUTION: To remove normal fittings, squeeze the tabs and pull straight out or harm to the fitting might occur. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge valve line.
9. Disconnect the gas strain sensor electrical connector. Disconnect the vacuum connector from the fuel strain sensor.
10. Disconnect the fuel line. Remove the electrical connectors from the bracket. LH knock sensor (KS). Cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor.
11. Take away the nut and the bracket. Take away the bracket. Remove the hose. Remove the nuts and the bracket.
12. Elevate the engine wiring harness and disconnect the LH gasoline injector connectors.
13. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Idle air management (IAC) valve. Throttle position (TP) sensor.
14. Disconnect the crankcase air flow tube from the RH valve cover. Disconnect the hoses (1) from the throttle body and the retaining clips (2).
15. Elevate the engine wiring harness and disconnect the RH gasoline injectors.
16. Take away the Delta PFE sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector. Disconnect the hoses. Remove the bolts and the sensor.
17. NOTE: The throttle body and adapter are proven removed for clarity. It’s not essential to remove the throttle physique and adapter to remove the consumption manifold. Take away the bolts and the stud (2) in the sequence shown.
18. NOTE: The throttle body, adapter and EGR valve are shown removed for clarity. NOTE: Place the throttle physique heater return hose out of the way earlier than removing the throttle body. Remove the consumption manifold.
19. CAUTION: Don’t use steel scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or different abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These instruments cause scratches and gouges, which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping instrument to scrub the surfaces. Clean the sealing surfaces. Examine the gaskets and set up new gaskets if necessary.
